This paper will critically investigate that how the environmental conditions confronted M&S has changed, particularly after the collapsed of USSR, and globalizations of markets that has changed the competitive environment for the organization. In essence a proper strategy could have been the one where the HR departments of the firm have been given the central role in the strategic management and long-term goals of the organization, however M&S neglect the HR that increasingly resulted in many more problems for the firm in the subsequent years. This report will critically investigate that what are the different problems that M&S has been confronting during the last decade and how such problem could be resolved by suggesting a set of recommendations to the management of the organization.
